John Mark Ray joined the staff of Lavon Drive Baptist Church in May 2020. Prior to joining our staff, he spent several years in student-focused ministry after graduating from West Coast Bible College.

John Mark grew up in a Christian home in Houston, Texas, and was saved at the age of 12. At the age of 17, his pastor preached a sermon on prayer which both inspired and challenged John Mark to spend extra time seeking God’s will for his life. It was during this season of prayer that he sensed God’s call to ministry. He met his wife Beka at West Coast Bible College and fell head over heels in love.

His favorite things to do are spending time with Beka, playing guitar, kayaking, watching basketball and football, and spending time with God’s people.
